Getting out of ‘Stuck’
What does it take to get to the next level in your work and your life?
I met with a client today who’s been working terrifically hard to get out of middle management and into the executive level in his business. He’s successful in his work, highly regarded and trusted and just hasn’t been able to make the leap.
Here’s what he took away, which I think can help a lot of us: The shift toward being seen differently is SEEING YOURSELF DIFFERENTLY (from ‘hero’ or ‘dedicated team member’ to ‘’Executive’ or ‘Leader’) and that also means
1) extracting myself from doing what others can do and
2) creating structures such so you can focus on higher value activities and
3) training people how to treat you by establishing clear expectations and boundaries and
4) (here’s the hardest one…) trusting/believing in yourself and your strengths and your capabilities and your expertise.
What would need to be true for you to lean first in to your strengths and gifts, rather than your gaps?
